Instructions

To login to edit your site, go to http;//tstray.com/login_form.  After logging in, goto http://tstray.com/folder_contents.  You can then navigate to gallery, and whichever collection.  If you get lost, hit the HOME navigation button, top left of your site.

This document you are reading now is a "page", created from the "add to folder" dropdown menu.  Its "short" name is index_html to make it the default view of its folder, named Instructions.

It is not visible to public navigation because it is not "published" (and the navigation settings of the site are set to show only published items).  Publishing is accomplished by choosing the publish state (rightmost of view tab).  But even though it doesn't show in the public navigation, anyone can still view it by entering its address in the browser address bar (add "/Instructions" after the site address).

In some cases it might be easier to edit a document in another of the Text formats: Structured (like this document) or ReStructured or Plain text, rather than HTML.

Some sites use the news and events features, and even though yours does not, I have left these notes about them.

A news item is similar to a page document in terms of editing.  It is different though in how it shows up as news in the navigation panel.  There is "A sample news item" included in this folder, which would show up to the public as news if it were published.

An event is like a news item with a few extra fields to describe the event's location in time and space, and to get more information about it.  And, it shows in the event navigator.  See "A sample event" in this folder.

A smart folder is a folder representation of a document search.  It can be used to collect similar documents from around the site into one virtual folder.

An atphotoalbum contains atphotoalbums or atphotos.  The "at" stands for ArcheTypes, the underlying infrastructure.  One is used for drawings and one for paintings, and within those,  for each of the Recent, Cityscapes, Circular, Figure, GVILA and Woodframes.  They can have customized viewers as need be.  It is important when additem-ing an atphoto to put something, even a space, in the title field -- by the time you get the error warning about it, it's too late, and the photo will be only 1kb in size and need to be deleted before the album can be viewed without the error.   Because of this, I have created a Studio album at the same heirarchical level as drawings and paintings for getting new pictures ready without causing the main site to show an error.

When adding an atphoto, hit the browse button to select the image on your local computer, and hit the Save button.   Then select the Properties tab and the sizes go in the Description field, then hit that Save button.

To move things around, select them from the contents listing, select cut, then go to the folder you want them in and select paste.

To reorder within the same folder, replace the folder_contents at the end of the browser location address with manage and use the up and down arrows at the right.  The arrows on either end move the item all the way to the top or bottom, the ones in the middle move it one step up or down.

To finish editing, add /logout to the end of the browser address, or close the web browser.
